GENERAL: All quiet. The party sent to Leesburg has returned. I will relieve those men belonging to the first and Third Divisions, Cavalry Corps, now at Muddy Branch, and send them via Harper's Ferry to join the corps.

In accordance with instructions from the War department, Battery H, First Rhode Island Artillery, is hereby relieved from duty in this department, and will proceed to-morrow, the 25th instant, to City Point, va., and be reported on arrival tot he commanding general Army of the Potomac for duty. the quartermaster's department will furnish the necessary transportation.
