HEADQUARTERS PORTER'S DIVISION, Numbers 44.
Camp near White House, Va., May 17, 1862.Having been assigned to the command of the Provisional Army corps, composed of this division and Sykes' infantry reserve, the commanding general relinquishes to brigadier-General Morell the immediate command of the division during the existence of the corps and while the tow commands are serving together.

Camp White House, Va., May 17, 1862.In compliance with Special Orders, Numbers 149, from headquarters Army of the Potomac, the undersigned assumes command of the Provisional Army Corps composed of Porter's division and Sykes' infantry reserve. The following compose the staff: Captain Fred. T. Locke, assistant adjutant-general; Surg. George H. Lyman, medical director; Captain C. B. Norton, Fiftieth New York Volunteers, quartermaster; Captain Joseph Kirkland, aide-de-camp; Lieutenant John F. McQuade, aide-de-camp; Lieutenant George A. Batchelder, acting ordnance officer; Lieutenant S. M. Weld, Jr., acting aide-de-camp.

Railroad and wharf materials all in motion. Four howitzers will leave by boat of to-morrow morning, reaching Aquia about 10 o'clock in the forenoon. Equipments and appendages for guns, carriages, men, and horses will go with the guns, together with a good supply of ammunition.
