Second and Third Divisions take the same road, the Second will be halted until the Third has cleared the way. General Smith will leave one brigade of his division in tis presetn camp to support Kenly at Williamsport in case of necessity. This brigade will march early in the morning of day after to-morrow (unless it receives further orders) by the same road taken by the remainder of the division, and will endeavor to overtake the corps at the earliest practicable moment.

If I move to the left, shall go through Sharpsburg, Rohrersville, and Burkittsville, via Crampton's Pass. My picket-line of infantry extends about two miles above Shepherdstown; beyond that no oe can cross, I believe, till near Shepherd's Island. The cavalry of Averell is there and watchful. When do you move? Signal from Maryland Heights says large force at Charlestown.*
