COLONEL: I am directed by General Robinson to say that the officer of the day reports that he can find no picket on our right or left; that we picket to the mounth of Cub Run, no the left, and he has been three miles up Bull Run without finding pickets.

First Division will move immediately to Fairfax Station to cover and hold that point. It will take its ambulances and ammunition train and three batteries of artillery. The Second and Third Division and the remainder of the artillery and trains will move to Union Mills.

4. Brigadier General Jacob G. Lauman, U. S. Volunteers, will proceed without delay to Philadelphia, Pa., and relieve Brigadier General J. P. Hatch, U. S. Volunteers, in command of the depot for drafted men at that place. General Hatch, as soon as relieved, will at once report to Major-General Stoneman, U. S. Volunteers, chief of cavalry, for duty as permanent commander of the Cavalry Depot at Saint Louis, Mo.
