On being relieved, General Gibbon will proceed without delay to join his command in the Army of the Potomac.

In compliance with instructions which have been received from the War Department, Major General George Sykes will report in person to Major-General Curtis, commanding Department of Kansas, at Fort Leavenworth, Kans. Major General W. H. French will repair to Philadelphia and Major General John Newton will repair to Cincinnati and report thence by letter to the Adjutant General of the Army, and Brigadier General J. R. Kenly will report in person to Major-General Wallace, commanding Middle Department.

8. In compliance with instructions which have received from the War Department, Brigadier General J. C. Caldwell, U. S. Volunteers, is relieved from duty in the Army of the Potomac, and will report for instructions to the Adjutant-General of the Army.
