of four-gun fort, on the side of six-gun fort struck by the shells from heavy guns on our left, and along works south to 15 degrees west of south, distance three miles. They have also put up a number of board shelters along the works on both sides four-gun fort and to right of six-gun fort. There are two battle-flags flying from the line of works to left of four gun fort not seen there yesterday.

Nothing of importance has occurred on this flank. A negro who came in last night reports that Ross' brigade and battery were captured by Kilpatrick on the 20th; says he saw the captain of the battery yesterday and heard him make the statement.
