COLONEL: The general commanding directs that you withdraw your brigade to-night at the same time that the troops of General Davis' division are withdrawn. You will accompany their movement across Proctor's Creek, and then proceed as speedily as possible to join your proper division in the Fourteenth Army Corps.

GENERAL: A deserter from Stevenson's division, just brought in, says that the report has been circulated on the enemy's picket-line that the Federal army will fall back to-night, and thinks an attempt to follow will be made to-morrow. The report was spread among them this morning.

COLONEL: The general commanding the corps directs that for orders concerning the movements of your brigade to-night, you report to Brigadier-General Knipe, commanding First Division, as your brigade is to march with that division and take position with it near the railroad crossing over the Chattahoochee River.
