I have sent a heavy guard three miles north. The railroad is ton up and some ties burned; not much damage done yet. They are near Decherd. My men came up to their pickets. All quiet here and at the Tunnel.

I have reliable information that Clanton's force received orders Sunday evening to go to Atlanta, and left. I can get no information as to the whereabouts of Wheeler. I have a force-concentrated and provided with three days' rations, ready to throw them upon any point of the road, if I can get information and a train I have ordered-of One hundred and second Ohio, Thirteenth Wisconsin, and Seventy-third Indiana from river, except one company at most exposed points commanded by each regiment.
