III. Brigadier General A. R. Wright, Provisional Army, C. S., is assigned to duty in the Army of Tennessee. he will report to General J. B. Hood, commanding, &c., Atlanta, Ga.

X. Major General Edward Johnson, Provisional Army, C. S., is assigned to duty in the Army of Tennessee. He will report without delay to General John B. Hood, commanding, &c., Atlanta, Ga.

XIII. Brigadier General St. John R. Liddell, Provisional, Army, C. S., is assigned to duty in the District of the Gulf, and will report for orders to Major-General Maury, commanding, &c. If no appropriate duty can be found there, general Liddell will proceed to the Army of Tennessee, and report for order to General J. B. Hood, commanding, &c.
XIV. Brigadier General J. J. archer, Provisional Army, C. S., is assigned to duty in the Army of Tennessee. he will report for orders to General John B. Hood, commanding, &c., Atlanta, Ga.

I. In the march about to commence no soldier or officer of any grade whatever will be permitted to carry any article of private property, except one single blanket and one oil-cloth.
II. The troops will be inspected daily while en route, and any additional article found upon the person or horse of any trooper or officer will be immediately destroyed.
III. The ordnance wagons, ambulances, limber-boxes, and caissons will be inspected twice each day, and the officer controlling them will be arrested, and if practicable, immediately punished if the smallest article of private property is found being thus transported.

Honorable J. AS. SEDDON:
When your telegram of July 23 was received, ordering Brigadier-General Deas' case before an examining board, it was impracticable to execute the order, General deas being absent sick and Major-General Hindman having left for the Trans-Mississippi Department. On the 6th of August General Deas reported, and I have placed him on duty,
hoping it will meet your approval.
