General Hood directs me to say that Vaughan's brigade is ready to go to your support if you think it necessary. He thinks you had batter move some of your batteries farther to the right, but use your best judgment. The general thinks the movement on the right is intended to deceive. Please watch it closely.

GENERAL: A report from the cavalry, and which General Jackson thinks enlisted to some consideration is as follows: The Fourteenth Corps moved up behind Schofield's corps last evening, and deserters say will, in conjunction with that, attack and attempt to force a way to the railroad to-day (12th).

GENERAL: General Hardee desires you, wherever it is practicable, to keep one regiment of each brigade in reserve behind that brigade. General Hood thinks the enemy will attack to-morrow. General Hardee directs me to say he has found that the picket duty has been done very neglectfully on some parts of Bate's line;he takes it for granted that you have picket-line regularly inspected.
