CAPTAIN: General Armstrong's brigade crossed last night one mile and a half east of here, and I will be relieved this morning. None of my scouts have reported to-day. If they get any information I will forward it you. I will call in my scouts at Fairburn and Milam's (four miles down the railroad) to-day.

CAPTAIN: My scouts sent out last night to see if there had been any change in the enemy's position report that they could observe none. their infantry seems to reach Pratt's house, and they have cavalry at Trimble's Mill.

General hardee has been directed to put Lewis' brigade in the line to relieve a sufficient number of regiments to enable you to take out barker's brigade. Direct that brigade to bivouac near these headquarters and General Baker to report in person.

Brigadier-General FERGUSON, Commanding cavalry:

A scout reports that the enemy has a brigade of cavalry on the road below decatur, tearing up and burning. The general directs that you attend to the matter. better send General Morgan with such force as you can spare to drive them, if possible. You should keep your scouts well out in that direction to give you notice of such doings.
