Report of the condition of the works and obstructions on the main line occupied by Steward's corps, august 25, 1864.

GENERAL FRENCH'S FRONT.

The only work required in front of this line is in strengthening and extending the obstructions. On portions of this line the abatis is well constructed of large timber, thickly placed. In front of Ward's and Hoskins' batteries particularly the obstructions are works. Chevauxde-first can be placed throughout the line with advantage.
