GENERAL: The following regiments and parts of regiments mustered into service are still within this State:

The Ninety-seventh, One hundred and fourth, and One hundred and fifth Infantry and the Fifth Artillery, all of which are complete and ready for service; the fractional infantry organizations of Comfort, Elliott, and Ullman having collectively, say, 1,000 men, and the fractional cavalry regiment of Swain, who does not report to the adjutant-general of the State. The Ninety-seventh leaves New York for Washington to-day, the One hundred and fourth to- morrow, and the One hundred and fifth next week. The Fifth Artillery is on duty in the forts of New York Harbor.

Recruiting to fill up the regiments in the field is constantly going on.
