GENERAL: In compliance with General Orders, No. 39, from your office, of July 1, 1865, I have the honor to report that from the 1st of July, 1864, to June 30, 1865, I have been on duty as assistant quartermaster-general, with my headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. I have not personally had charge of any clothing, or other public property, the chartering or building of steam-boats, construction of railways, or transportation of troops or supplies. A statement of the public moneys received and transferred during the year is herewith. The annual report called for by your General Orders, No. 29, July 6, 1864, was mailed on the 20th of August last.
