Report of Colonel John K. Mizner, THIRD Michigan Cavalry, Chief of Cavalry, District of Jackson.

JACKSON, TENN., April 21, 1863.

CAPTAIN: Captain T. V. Quackenbush, with 23 men of the THIRD Michigan Cavalry, came upon a party of rebels, 25 in number, at Trenton, on Sunday morning (19th), routing them, and capturing 15 out of the 25. He was attacked in return by a party of 63, under Captains Blackmore, Sparks, and Thomas, all of whom he successfully repulsed, and drove them from the town, holding the prisoners captured, only 1 escaping.

Additional cavalry has been sent to re-enforce Captain Quackenbush.
