Of the bravery and efficient service of the above-named officers and men I can speak in the highest terms, as many of them came under my personal observation, and I cordially indorse the recommendation of their respective commanding officers, hopping they will speedily receive the promotions which are so well merited; and I wounded recommend that the medal of honor voted by Congress be presented to all the enlisted men mentioned, also to all the non-commissioned officers and privates composing the storming party on the 22nd.

I append a recapitulation of the casualties in my command to date full lists, giving name company and regiments of officers and men, having been forwarded to your headquarters.

I inclose herewith reports of brigade and regiment commanders as far as received.
