Send courier to Colonel [C. C.] Wilbourn to return to Osyka, as the enemy are probably making for Natchez or Baton Rouge. He must make no movement from Osyka until he has reliable information of the movements of the enemy, and then endeavor to get upon their flank or rear. Place yourself under command of Colonel Wilbourn. Colonel Wirt Adams has been directed to take command of all cavalry south of the Southern Railroad.
