1. Captain James St. C. Morton, Engineer Corps, is hereby relieved from duty in the Engineer Bureau and will report in person without delay to Major-General Meade, commanding Army of the Potomac, for assignment to duty with Major-General Burnside, U. S. Volunteers, commanding Ninth Army Corps.

Michigan regiments of this division have been engaged in several skirmishes and three general engagements. They have all done well, some of them splendidly. Their losses since crossing the Rapidan to this date have been-killed, 161; wounded, 722; missing, 540. Total loss, 1,423. Will you please use every means in your power to hurry up all re-enforcements to these regiments? I thing we are on the high road to success.
