Ed Bearss and reopening of U.S. Grant Homestead scheduled for April 6, 2013
Ed Bearss and the end of the Civil War
Civil War author, tour guide, and scholar Edwin C. Bearss will return to Georgetown on Saturday, April 6, 2013 for a presentation on The End of the Civil War.
Harriet Jackson will open the program with songs of the Civil War era at 2:30 pm and Mr. Bearss will speak at 3:00 pm at the Gaslight Theater, 301 S. Main Street.
This will be Ed's sixth appearance in Georgetown sponsored by the U.S. Grant Homestead Association.

Dedication of the U.S. Grant Homestead
The extensive restoration project at the U.S. Grant Boyhood Home is nearly complete and the home will be open from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm with the dedication at 12:00 pm on April 6, 2013.
