Memorial Stone Dedication
updated:
At 12 p.m. Sunday, November 20, family and friends of George Lomas will gather to dedicate a stone in his memory in the Memorial Garden of the Historic Daniel Lady Farm. In addition to speakers and period music, a cannon salute will be fired. Artillery was a favorite of Lomas and he donated a 10-pound Parrott rifle reproduction to the farm in 2013.
Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
“George was always a great supporter of the GBPA,” said President Barb Mowery. “His humor and smile were contagious, but, at the same time, he didn’t hesitate to tell us to stop beating around the bush and take action on the challenges the GBPA faced.
“George became an indelible part of the legacy of the Gettysburg Battlefield and the Historic Daniel Lady Farm, and will speak to us with every round fired from his Parrott rifle.”
