GENERAL: The general commanding directs that you send a brigade forward at daylight to repair the roads between this point and the bridge, detailing Captain Gavitt to superintend the work. The remainder of your command will move forward as the road is repaired. He further direts you to collect all the axes in your command, and send them forward with your advacned birgade.
