before daylight to-morrow morning. In order to do this all pack-mules and wagons will leave this camp at 2 a. m. to-morrow morning, in the same order as designated for the troops, and pass as soon as practicable through the town of Goldsborough. Lieutenant-Colonel Asmussen, assistant inspector-general, will desigante the position of the pack-mules and wagons after passing through the town. Each division commander will designate an officer to take charge of his pack-mules and wagons, who will report with his train to Lieutenant-Colonel Asmussen in Goldsborough, at General Slocum's headquarters. The troops will march at 5 a. m., as designated in the order of this afternoon. The corps will march through Goldsborough in review.

GENERAL: General Howard directs me to inform you that General Terry reports a force of the enemy's cavalry as crossing to this side of the river, about two miles above his headquarters (Cox's Bridge), and seem to be making their way toward the railroad, threatening the trains at the temporary depot. He sends the information in order that you may guard against the possible danger to the train.
