Schofield is hereby relieved of the command of the Second Brigade, Third Division, Twenty-third Army Corps, and assigned to the temporary command of the Second Division, Twenty-third Army Corps, vice Brigadier General J. A. Cooper, ordered to report to Major-General Thomas, commanding Department of the Cumberland.
